The Complete Specifications for Every Game, Every Card Set & Every Level
A player’s final score is based on these three factors that are common across all card sets and all levels!
Full Color® Solitaire has a unique and proprietary scoring system with a global leaderboard to track and compare your scores against players from all over the world.
The key to rising up the leaderboards, winning achievements, awards, competitions and real money is understanding how the Full Color® Solitaire Game Scoring System works.
The key is optimized playing.
Optimization is achieved by minimum amount of moves necessary to win.
Optimization is further achieved by the time it takes for you to complete a game
Optimization is further achieved by winning bonuses. The higher the level, the higher the bonus.
Optimization as a rule then is about move count and time which in essence is the speed in which you play. There are many things that factor into these but all of it truly comes down to the logic you apply and the deductive reasoning you use to resolve a game.
Many of these philosophies, means and methods are explained in the Tips & Tricks section explained by the inventor David W. Mahon.
NUMBER OF MOVES
One of the keys to obtaining the highest possible scores in a game is the efficiency in which you play the game. This efficiency is revealed in the number of moves that it takes you to complete a game. You can actually solve a game faster than someone else but end up with a lower score because you made too many moves in the end as you are penalized for each and every move you make and worse, the types of moves you make.
If you can move a card from a tableau to a tableau to free up and move another card or stack of cards below it, you will only have points deducted for a single move. If you move a card to an open cell and then back to a tableau you will have points deducted for the move to the open cell and more points to move the card back to a tableau. If you could have moved it from tableau to tableau or stock pile to foundation or any of the appropriate variables instead, not only do you waste an extra move to the best or non-final location, you waste time and these types of inefficient moves reduce your final score quickly.
If you move a card to or from any cell or stack to facilitate or free up another card to progress the game, you will be penalized for that move as well. You should be very careful how you move cards around if you want to obtain the highest possible scores and consider combinations of Tableau to Tableau moves instead of FreeCell moves if possible.
SPEED OF PLAY
A player is penalized -5 points per second from the beginning of the play until they either Win or Surrender the game which locks in their final score. The more time you sit and think about what card or stacks or cards to move, the more points you lose in all games that are in Competition Mode. Naturally, the faster you can play the game, the higher your score is going to be at the end because you didn’t lose any points due to any wasted time. In summary, speed is paramount in obtaining high scores.
BONUS FOR WINNING
If you should succeed in winning a game you will be awarded a sizable bonus based on the Level of play you are on. The higher the card set and complexity to win, the higher the bonus!
